The challenge was to create a striking opening film for the gala marking Cargill’s 160th anniversary — despite the almost complete lack of visual material of sufficient quality. The available archive material consisted solely of a handful of very poor-quality photographs, often below SD standard, which ruled out the possibility of producing a traditional, dynamic retrospective for a large event screen.
Our solution
We proposed an innovative approach: a complete reconstruction of the company’s history using artificial intelligence tools. The entire film — from the visual concept, through the scenes and animations, to the bespoke soundtrack — was generated using AI. In the process, we utilised, amongst other things, Runway Act-Two and a suite of tools for generating images, sound and narration.
We upscaled the available, low-quality footage to 4K resolution, which enabled us to maintain visual consistency throughout the project. The film was shown on a screen measuring an impressive 5 metres high by 9 metres wide, providing the audience with a cinema-like experience.
The end
result: The final film became an artistic interpretation of the company’s 160-year history – symbolically blending tradition with modernity. The whole thing was crowned by an AI-generated animation of the circular anniversary logo, which seamlessly transitioned into the gala’s theme: ‘The future begins today’.
By combining AI voice-over, SFX sound effects and a musical composition created by artificial intelligence, we gave the whole production a futuristic, modern feel that perfectly captured the spirit of innovation and continuous development of the Cargill brand.
